Uniform Policy

School uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of the school as an educational setting focussed on learning and sets an appropriate tone. It instils pride, supports positive behaviour and discipline, and encourages identity with the school. The change in uniform between Primary and Secondary helps pupils to understand the transition into the next stage of school life.

Uniform Requirements

The Ridgeway School uniform is for all pupils in the school from Reception up to Year 11. FE students are not required to wear uniform. The uniform is optional for nursery pupils.

Reception to Year 6 – PRIMARY Uniform

Uniform
  • Black skirt/skort
  • Black Trousers
  • Pale blue polo shirt with school logo or plain pale blue polo shirt
  • Royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo or plain Royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Blue & white checked dress in the summer term
PE Kit
  • White T-Shirt (with or without school logo)
  • Black Sports shorts
Optional Bags
  • Blue swimming bag with logo
  • Blue backpack with logo
Other Optional Items
  • Blue knitted hat with logo
  • Blue coat (no logo)
  • Summer cap/legionnaires hat

 

Year 7 to Year 11 – SECONDARY Uniform
